Higher quality 95 octane gasoline to be offered in Egypt at Exxon Mobil, Total stations
Published in Ahram Online on 13 - 02 - 2018

Egyptian gas stations will be providing a higher-quality 95 octane fuel to consumers at EGP 6.6 per litre, Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla said Monday at the EGYPS conference, according to Al-Ahram Arabic website.
Distribution will be through Exxon Mobil and Total stations during the first phase of the launch, El-Molla said, without specifying a date for the launch.
The product consists of 95 octane gasoline with additives for an improved quality, ministry spokesperson Hamdi Abdel-Aziz told Ahram Online.
Each oil company will add its own additives to the gasoline and will issue the product with its own trademark.
The new product is set to contribute to an improved performance and more protection of engines, in addition to increasing energy efficiency, El-Molla said.
The improved 95 octane fuel serves to keep up with new developments in car engines, El-Molla said, adding that it has already been tested to make sure it fits standards for petroleum products.
The price of 95 octane fuel was hiked to EGP 6.6 per liter, up from EGP 6.25 in July 2017, as part of the government fuel subsidy reforms.
