Egypt's Salah comments on Pjanic move, hopes he can stay at Roma Salah scored 14 league goals and set up another eight in 34 Serie A fixtures with Roma last season
Egypt's winger Mohamed Salah has defended the decision of his Roma teammate Miralem Pjanic to leave the club to Juventus, insisting he hopes to stay with the Italian giants for a long time. “Pjanic made his choice,” Salah was quoted as saying on Sky Sports Italia on Tuesday. “It was a personal decision that came down to him and which we must respect. I wish him good luck, he's still my friend. “Juventus signed some excellent players but we'll fight for the Scudetto. It's not going to be easy but we'll give it our all. We want to give great joy to our fans and to the club. “[Coach Luciano] Spalletti is beloved here in Rome, by the club, the fans and the players, not least for what he has done in the past. He wants the same thing as we do, to give something satisfying to the fans and the directors. “Our coach likes to move players on the pitch and this always gives problems to our opponents when they try to read us. The 24-year-old player has also talked about his future with Roma, praising the experience. “I hope I can stay here a long time, I'm very happy in this beautiful city and I have a great relationship with all of my teammates.” The Pharaoh, who notched 14 league goals and set up another eight in 34 Serie A fixtures, seemed to have won over the Giallorossi fans' hearts since sealing a permanent move from English Premier League side Chelsea in 2015, having been chosen as Roma's Player of the Year.
