Egypt's Ambassador to the U.S. Sameh Shokry decided to extend the working hours in the Egyptian embassy until midnight for three days to receive the ballot envelopes of the second phase of Egypt's parliamentary elections. Shokry said the decision was made to pave the way for Egyptians to exercise their constitutional rights and to participate in formulating Egypt's political democratic future. He added Egyptian consulates in the U.S opened their doors for the voting process in an attempt to support Egyptian citizens to participate in the electoral process. He added Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Supreme Electoral Committees (SEC) to achieve this objective. He said the electoral process is followed up by Egyptian community representatives in the U.S, in addition to a number of institutions approved by the SEC. It is important to mention the Egyptian embassy in Washington publishes the details of electoral process and updates on its official website and its official page on Facebook.
