CAIRO: Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr today decided to open more polling stations in Egyptian consulates in Chicago and New York to service a huge influx of Egyptian expatriate voters in the current parliamentary elections. “This decision reflects the ministry's keenness in supporting the participation of expatriate Egyptians in the democratic change in Egypt,” said Amr Roshdy, the spokesman for the Foreign Affairs ministry. He also praised the “voting and counting process achieved in Egyptian embassies and consulate abroad.” “Polling stations in Egyptian consulates in New York and Chicago will serve roughly 600,000 Egyptians living in the eastern and Midwestern United States,” he added.
