The vote counting process for the Egyptian parliamentary elections ended yesterday in the Egyptian embassy in Saudi Arabia. The results were sent immediately to the Supreme Electoral Commission (SEC) in Cairo. Ambassador Mahmoud Ouf and the judiciary commission, composed of four judges, as well as members of the Egyptian community and candidates' supporters, supervised the process. A large number of volunteers contributed in the vote counting process, said Ouf. Witnesses said there was smaller turnout for the runoff elections, mainly due to the strength of the Freedom and Justice Party and al-Nour candidates.
