NORTH SINAI: The Governor of North Sinai asserted that Egypt's eastern borders are safe and Al-Qaeda has no relationship with the Sinai Peninsula. Commenting on the claims of Israeli leaders and officials, Abdel Wahab Mabrouk said that the Sinai Peninsula became a place for terrorism and hosted elements of Al-Qaeda. Mabrouk stressed that borders with the Gaza Strip are completely secured by the Border Guards. He added that the borders with Israel are secured, and asserted Egyptian control of the peninsula. The governor pointed out that service projects were inaugurated. He said that authorities finished all preparations to face floods through maintaining and raising the efficiency of the al-Rawfaa and Karam Valley dams. He said that the civil police works efficiently, achieving security and stability and that there are continuous sweeps inside the Peninsula to search for outlaws.
