CAIRO: The Egyptian April 6 Youth Movement today called on Egyptians to participate in a million-man march under the slogan, “Transfer of Authority and National Salvation Government.” The choice of Kamal el-Ganzouri as prime minister of the transitional government was another “ploy” by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, the Movement said. April 6 member Amr Aly today threatened to escalate protests if SCAF refuses to respond to the demands from Tahrir Square. The April 6 Movement refused to meet with the new prime minister and the escalation has already begun with the human blockade at the headquarters of the Cabinet of Ministers, said Mahmoud Afifi, the spokesperson for the Movement. “The Movement rejects el-Ganzouri for several reasons,” said member Ahmed Nadim. “First, he is not affiliated with Tahrir Square; he also belongs to the former regime.” “The movement has no problem with elections going forward,” he continued, but “they should be postponed another two weeks to give candidates time to prepare.”
