Head of the Israeli Knesset Reuven Rivlin said Israel would not accept Sinai turning in to the epicenter of terrorism and war again, stressing that peace with Egypt is still being tested and the situation is still far from over. Rivlin said, in a speech during a celebration commemorating those who died in the Tripartite Aggression of 1956, the Egyptian people are to decide their fate and the fate of relations with Israel. The radio quoted the General Chairman of the Israeli Knesset as saying Israel remains committed to its duty to protect the safety of its citizens against threats from any country, including Egypt.
