SOHAG, Egypt: Dozens of political activists in the governorate of Asyut, Upper Egypt, staged a protest on Sunday November 20 through all streets of governorate to support Tahrir protesters in Cairo. The protesters condemned the over-use of violence by security forces against the protesters in Tahrir. They also chanted slogans, "From Asyut to Tahrir Square, down, down with Sami Anan," and "From Asyut to Tharir, down down the Marshal.” In addition, they called for a timetable of transferring authority to an elected civilian authority, for the resignation of Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and formation of a new government to save Egypt.
