Egyptian human development fell from 101st to 113th of 178 countries in 2011, according to the most recent United Nations Human Development Report. The slip in the ranking is due to other countries' improved metric performance, according to the report, but also due to poor Egyptian statistics concerning birth rates, prices and costs, and lack of basic health and education. However Egyptian human development did increase 1.5 percent, according to the UN report. The average per capita income for Egyptians is U.S. $5,269 and life expectancy in Egypt is 73.2 years. On the other hand, average per capita income in Israel is U.S. $25,849 and life expectancy is 81.6 years. In the top-ranking country on the UN list, Norway, the per capita income average is U.S. $47,557. Australia, the Netherlands, the United States and New Zealand follow Norway on the top of the human development list. Chasing up the bottom of the human development list are Niger, Burundi, Mozambique, Chad, Liberia and Burkina Faso.
