CAIRO: Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel Fattah was today remanded to custody for 15 days for investigation by Egypt's military prosecution. Abdel Fattah is accused of participating in the deadly October 9 Maspiro clashes that left 27 dead earlier this month. Political activist and member of the Kefaya Movement Bahaa Saber is currently under investigation as well. Dozens of political activists arranged a protest against the military attorney. The ‘No Military Trials for Civilians' group and the April 6 Movement organized the protest in solidarity with Alaa Abdel Fattah, Bahaa Saber and Mohamed Adel. All three are accused of inciting the Maspiro clashes. Protestors chanted slogans and held up banners opposing military trials for civilians and demanded to set Alaa free. No Military Trials activist Maha Ma'amon revealed that among the names of those accused of inciting the Maspiro clashes is Mina Daniel, who was killed during the clashes. Arabic here
