CAIRO: A number of Egyptian journalists protested when Egyptian Minister of Information Osama Heikal cast his vote in Wednesday's press syndicate elections. Protestors shouted at Heikal, "Where is the Press? Here is the falsity," "The people want to purify the Press," and" Leave, Leave.” Egyptian Presidential candidate and member of the Egyptian Press Syndicate Hamdeen Sabbahi said the syndicate election assures Egypt would have free and democratic elections for all journalists.
