The "Regulators Against Corruption" movement accused the former chairman of the Central Auditing Organization (CAO), Gawdat al-Malt, of corruption due to his position as a member on the privatization committee that oversaw under-valued privatizations of state companies. The Administrative Judiciary Court said that the privatizations were suspicious, and issued an order to cancel the sales. The court criticized Malt's approval of privatizations during his tenure as chairman of the CAO as unjustified. “Regulators Against Corruption asked the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to appoint a national leader in the CAO to reveal corruption cases that took place during the administration of former President Hosni Mubarak. The CAO is the only party that can provide the courts documentation of the crimes.
