The International Institute for Research in Oslo, Norway, today announced that prominent Egyptian activist Wael Ghonim, activist Esraa Abdel Fatah and the April 6 Youth Movement had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. “The prize is the least reward for Egyptians and the martyrs of the January 25 Revolution,” said the April 6 Youth Movement in a statement. The Egyptian people deserve the prize, and the martyrs are now the models who taught the world how revolutions can be civilized and peaceful, the statement continued.
