CAIRO: An Israeli extremist religious movement staged a protest outside the Egyptian consulate in Eilat, near the Egypt-Israeli border. The protesters called to bring down the Egyptian flag in response to the incidents at the Israeli Embassy in Cairo two weeks ago. Two weeks ago, Egyptian demonstrators protested outside the Israeli Embassy and brought down the Isreali flag in response to the killing of six Egyptian soldiers by the Israeli military along the Egypt-Israel border. Many Israelis living in Eilat also staged another demonstration, according to Israeli newspaper Arava Eilat. The Israelis demonstrated last week in front of the Egyptian consulate, calling to dismiss the Egyptian ambassador. The Israeli demonstrators chanted aggressive phrases against Egypt. They also insulted the Prophet Muhammad. The paper added that the Israeli police forces arrested some of the Israeli demonstrators as they protested without taking governmental permission and caused public disorder.
