CAIRO: The Egyptian government will have difficulty monitoring elections abroad, said Mamdouh Shaheen, Assistant Minister of Defense and member of the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Shaheen said it is difficult to appoint judges in every Egyptian community abroad to monitor the elections. He said it is possible the presidential vote abroad could be monitored if monitoring systems were not put into place for expatriates' parliamentary vote. During a meeting between the SCAF and the chairmen of political parties, Shady Ghazali Harb of the al-Waai party said every Egyptian citizen has right to vote as an indication of increasing stability. Harb added that Egyptian communities abroad have called for the right to cast their votes in Egyptian elections several times.
