Nour said the meeting was congenial. He said he asked the ambassador about rumors circulated in newspapers about Saudi Arabia's position on the Egyptian revolution and reports about its support for certain candidates for the presidency or political trends. Nour said Ambassador Khattan stressed that Saudi Arabia does not interfere in Egypt's internal affairs and is equally distanced from all parties and candidates for the presidency out of respect for the will of the Egyptian people, and expressed the wishes of Saudi Arabia for stability and progress for the Egyptian people. Kattan said Saudi Arabia paid special attention to Egyptian nationals on its territory before and after Egypt's January 25 Revolution and is keen to continue economic and political cooperation between the two countries.
