The Egyptian Center Agency for Public Mobilization And Statistics (CAMPAS) announced today the number of tourists declined by 28.9 percent in June 2011 in comparison with June 2010. The number of tourists coming to Egypt worldwide reached 732,000 in June 2011, compared to 1.029 million in June 2010. Western Europe was the biggest decline in number of tourists with, numbers down by 35.2 percent, Eastern Europe down by 28.5 percent in comparison with June 2010. CAMPAS monthly bulletin referred to the decline of number of tourism nights reached 7.8 million reservations during June 2011, in comparison with 10.5 million reservations during June 2010. It went down by 26.3 percent, compared to June 2010. Western Europe declined most by 36.3 percent, and Eastern Europe down by 36.4 percent, in comparison with June 2010. The number of Arab tourists reached 182,000 in June 2011, in comparison with the 183,000 tourists in June 2010, with a 0.3 percent difference. The number of tourism reservation numbers, spent by Arab tourists, reached 2.6 million reservations in June 2011, in comparison to the 2.4 million in June 2010, with an increase of 8.3 percent because of the increasing number of Libyans in Egypt due to Libya's events.
