The governor of South Sinai, Major General Khalid Fouda, denied there was shooting at an Israeli bus in the city of Eilat on the Egyptian side of the border. He said the shots came from Israel's side of the border and there were no Egyptians involved. The mayor of the city of ‘Nuweiba President,' Colonel El-Arabi El-Husseini, told Youm7 the city remained calm and nothing unusual occurred at the Israeli-Egyptian border. An Israeli bus was under attack in Eilat. 10 Israelis were injured approximately 15 kilometers away from the Egyptian border. According to Israeli sources there was an exchange of fire between the Israeli armed forces and anonymous armed Egyptians at the border.
