CAIRO: The Horreya Centre for the Study of Human Rights condemned the military prosecutor's summoning of activist Asmaa Mahfouz for questioning this morning. The center said civilians should only answer to civilian authorities. Mohammed Said, director of the center, said there is a need for distinguishing between dealing with the military as the provisional authority governing the country and dealing with it as the military establishment which manages the affairs of the country's military. The military's actions as ruler of the country must and should be questioned, while in its second role it must be given greater leeway since the nation's security is dependent on the military in this role, he said.
