CAIRO: Egyptian Central Agency for Mobilization And Statistics (CAPMAS) issued a bulletin of consumer price indices, an inflation rate, of July 2011. According to CAPMAS bulletin, the monthly inflation rate increased by 1.3 percent in July comparing to July of 2010, which reached 10.7 percent. The increase is driven by rise in prices of certain foods, such as grains and rice, which went up by 10.61 percent. The price of sugar increased by 9.42 percent. In addition, vegetables, chicken, and cigarettes increased by 10.9 percent, 3.07 percent, and 9.5 percent respectively. It is worth mentioning monthly inflation rates of June increased by 0.4 percent, while the annual inflation reached 12.1 percent comparing June of 2010, which reached 10.66 percent.
