MINYA, Egypt: One Coptic Christian was killed and four Muslims were wounded when clashes broke out in Minya over a traffic accident. The clashes in Nazlet Faragallah village escalated after a traffic accident when unknown persons shot at a group of Muslims during a prayer vigil. Windows at the mosque were broken. Security forces launched an investigation after the clashes broke out. Seven people from both sides were arrested to control the situation and the investigation is continuing. There has been an uneasy calm in the Upper Egypt village since security took control of the situation. Attempts have been made to reconcile the two parties. Both Christian and Muslim leaders in Minya governorate condemned the clashes. They called for reconciliation to end the bloodshed between Muslims and Christians.
