Head of the Egyptian Company for Natural Gas (GASCO), Magdy Tawfiq, refused the station to export gas to Israel. There was a sixth bombing at the hands of unknown armed men in the village of Sheikh Zuwaid. Tawfiq said the explosion that occurred at the site of the East Mediterranean gas company is responsible for exporting gas to Israel and added the company is preparing a plan in cooperation with the holding company for gas, EGAS, to secure export routes for gas. Chairman of the Holding Company for Natural Gas and subsidiary of the Ministry of Petroleum, Hassan Mahdi, said the gas pipeline repairs at Arish are still underway. He pointed out the guards at the station fired at the assailants, resulting in aborting the sixth attempt to bomb the gas pipeline. Mahdi said he coordinated with stakeholders to secure the gas pipeline before the start of flow operations. He stressed he would apply strict security measures to protect the gas pipeline.
