CAIRO: Egyptian political and Islamic powers issued a statement to show gratitude to the demonstrators for their sit-ins and peaceful protests in Tahrir Square. The statement called for immediate investigations on the planned violence that took place a couple of days ago. It added that the protests contributed to achieve certain demands of the January 25 Revolution. All the groups said the sit-in is a matter that is in the hands of those who are participating in it. According to the statement, today's demonstration aims to unify all people in order to achieve the demands of the revolution. The political powers added in their statement that they refuse any doubts and threats from any media and political fronts. The statement was signed by 29 movements and parties including the Karama Party's chairman, Ameen Alexander, Egypt' Freedom Party member, Amr Hamzawi, April 6 Movement members, Essam Sultan and Mohammad Adel, the Gamaa Islamyyia member Safwat Abdel-ghani, and the Salafi member Ibrahim Abaza.
