CAIRO: Dozens of Egyptian engineers are staging a protest at the headquarters of the General Association of Engineers against association trustee Mohamed Baraka, who did not carry out general assembly decisions for Baraka to step down after holding elections. The Muslim Brotherhood's representative in the association, engineer Omar Abdul Allah, said Baraka deliberately ignored the decision to hold elections. The protesters have threatened to gather 250,000 demonstrators on Friday. Abdul Allah said protestors are discussing organizing a march to the cabinet building and then to the headquarters of Egypt's ruling military council in order to start elections. Protestors accused Baraka of wasting the association's money. They called to transfer him to a disciplinary committee and to remove his name from the list of general assembly members.
