CAIRO: Demonstrators gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square yesterday called to make January 25 ‘Martyrs' Day' in commemoration of the more than 800 people killed during Egypt's January 25 Revolution. Demonstrators gathered yesterday, the ‘Friday of Retribution,' condemned the clashes between citizens and Central Security Forces on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in downtown Cairo. They also called to change the name ‘Tahrir Square' – Liberation Square – to ‘Tahrir al-Shohadaa Square' – Martyrs' Liberation Square. They demanded that those who killed demonstrators during the revolution be prosecuted, especially Egypt's former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly and former President Hosni Mubarak. They chanted, “We will not stop, not sleep, down with the regime” and “Rebels not thugs… rebels made the freedom.” The protestors also burnt photos of Mubarak.
