CAIRO: Russia has announced that it will lift the ban on importing Egyptian potatoes in the next few days, said Hisham al-Nagar, a member of the Agricultural Export Council. He added that the Egyptian-Russian committee will meet in Cairo next July to discuss the potato crisis. El-Nagar told Youm7 that the Russian side confirmed there will not be any tougher procedures on Egyptian exports until considering the matter. It is worth mentioning that Russia had announced a ban on Egyptian exports of potatoes as they were infected with the brown rot. Potato exports to Russia increased this year by 400 percent by exporting 240,000 tons.
