CAIRO: Banque Misr General Assembly decided to raise an issue and pay capital from 1.6 billon EGP (U.S. $262.2 million) to 5 billon EGP (U.S. $838 million) funded from the state reserve. Chairman of Banque Misrt, Mohamed Barakat, said this increase is a result of an increase in the bank's activities necessitating greater increase in its annual budget, which reaches 180 billion EGP (U.S $30 billion). This increase will help investments and employment, which is Banque Misr's role in supporting the national economy.
