CAIRO: An exhibition of contemporary conceptual art titled ‘Text' will be held at Darb 17/18 cultural center on Monday. The exhibit will show how contemporary conceptual art stresses the importance of text, where text is wither the conceptual part of the art projects or it is the conceptual definition of it, said Yara Mekawei, the exhibition's curator/ "The importance of the text in the art works as a bridge between the artist and the conceptual work of art and the public," she added. The exhibition will show the works of 12 Egyptian artists: Ahmed Mohsen Masnsour, Ahmed Soliman, Asmaa Elkolaly, Basem Samir, Hend Elkolaly, Jacquline George, Mina Nasr, Moustafa Ashraf, Ola Saad, Shereen Lotfy, and Yara Mekawi. Accompanying the opening night will be a concert of electronic music and live performances by Wael Khaled, Yara Mekawei, Ola Saad, and Sameh el-Tawel.
