Zamalek boss Hassan Shehata seems optimistic about the club's future following the reappointment of Mamdouh Abbas as chairman. Wealthy businessman Abbas, who was sacked as Zamalek chairman last year, is set to return to the helm after ending his dispute with ex-presidential rival and old foe Mortada Mansour. The majority of Zamalek patrons received the news with a sigh of relief as Shehata is set to meet with his new employers. “We will have a meeting soon to discuss the first-team issues and our transfer targets for January,” Shehata was quoted as saying by Zamalek's website. “I am optimistic about the return of the elected board and I think it will be capable of solving the problems we faced recently.” Zamalek have been suffering with financial problems since the departure of Abbas in September 2010, which left interim chairman Galal Ibrahim with a tough task to handle. The core of the club's problems lied in the board's failure to pay the wages of first-team players, prompting the likes of Hussein Yasser and Hazem Emam to rescind their contracts and leave for free. Star striker Amr Zaki is also involved in a dispute with Ibrahim's board because of his late dues, a stance which caused the dismay of Zamalek fans recently.
