Smouha decided to dispense with Beshir Al-Tabie after less than a fortnight from his arrival and they are already looking for a younger defender to support their backline. The Alexandrian club said on their official website that head coach Mohsen Saleh had told the club's board to get rid of the 34-year-old in order to sign a young player. Former Zamalek defender Al-Tabie joined Smouha from Mansoura after the promoted side paid a EGP 150,000 release clause. Saleh revealed that he's negotiating with an unnamed Egyptian youngster and another foreign player to replace Al-Tabie. Al-Tabie was released by Zamalek in the summer of 2008 after spending a fruitless season at the Cairo club. He played for the White Knights in the early 2000s as well. He also joined Bursaspor in the winter of 2009 but was offloaded by the Turkish minnows only after a couple of weeks.
