Sevilla held CSKA Moscow to a 1-1 away draw in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash on Wednesday to close in on a place in the quarter finals. The Spanish side, who missed striker Luis Fabiano and winger Diego Capel with injury, took the lead on 25 minutes after a swift counter attack. A Jesus Navas cross from the right eluded the keeper and found Alvaro Negredo, who tapped in into an empty net. CSKA kept alive their hopes of booking a last-eight berth when they leveled the score in the 66th minute in superb fashion. Chilean winger Mark Gonzalez fired a powerful left-footed drive that flew into the top corner. "It would have been better to win but this can be considered a good result," Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez said after the game. "We needed to make short passes because of the artificial pitch. We got a draw and we will decide everything in the second leg." The second leg will take place on March 16 at Sevilla's Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
