Barcelona saw their La Liga lead cut after being condemned to a 2-1 defeat, their first loss this season, at Atletico Madrid in a pulsating match on Sunday. Diego Forlan opened the scoring only after nine minutes before Simao doubled the hosts' advantage seven minutes from time. Barca's Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled one back three minutes from the half-hour mark but the Catalans couldn't restore parity. Pep Guardiola's side are now only a couple of points on top of the league table. Second-placed Real Madrid are on 53 points.
