Nigerian side Heartland came from behind to earn a 2-1 home victory over TP Mazembe Englebert of DR Congo in the first-leg of the African Champions League on Sunday. Mazembe stunned the home crowd when striker Tresor Mputu opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Heartland, who never won Africa's premier club competition, leveled the score just one minute later via Uche Agba's strike. Agba scored his second of the night with ten minutes remaining to take his tally to eight goals and help his side avoid a disappointing home result. A 1-0 home victory for Mazembe, who won the last of their two Champions League titles in 1968, in the second leg on November 7 will hand them the prestigious accolade on the away goal rule. The winner will be Africa's representative in next month's FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
