Egypt coach Miroslav Soukup apologized to the supporters after his team were downed 2-1 by a ten-man Paraguay side in the U-20 World Cup. The lackluster Egypt were punished by a stoppage time goal from Aldo Paniagua, despite playing for almost an hour against an incomplete team. "I want to apologize to thousands of Egypt fans, first because we failed to make them happy today," Soukup said in the post-match conference. "Also I apologize on behalf of my players because they didn't salute the fans after the game. "I warned the players of overconfidence in the break but they were unable to capitalize on Paraguay's red card and so didn't deserve to win, while Paraguay played a great game." Speaking about Egypt's stance in Group A, Soukup believes his side should be able to beat Italy on Thursday to book their last 16 place. "I think we have a fine chance of reaching the next round and I am confident we can beat Italy to go directly to the knockouts," said the Czech. Trained On the other hand, Paraguay boss Adrian Coria emphasized how his side managed to outplay the hosts at Cairo Stadium, despite being a man down. "No one wants to play with a man down, but I usually train my players on how to face such circumstances," the Argentine said. "At half-time, I told the players that they need to adapt to a new strategy and they were heroes because they implemented my plan perfectly."
