Egypt are fully ready to host the U-20 World Cup, FIFA vice-president Jack Warner said on Wednesday. "I can assure you that Egypt have everything in place to stage a very successful World Cup," Warner told reporters during a press conference that was held to provide an overview of the tournament. "No country could have been more prepared than Egypt at the moment." The country will host the 24-team tournament from September 24 to October 16 as part of FIFA's plan to give African countries prominent role in such high-profile events. Nigeria will host the U-17 tournament in October and November while next year's World Cup will take place in South Africa. The U-20 World Cup is the second FIFA tournament to be staged in Egypt after the 1997 U-17 tournament. "We did our best to show that Egypt can meet all the requirements of FIFA," head of local organizing committee Hani Abou-Reida said. Egypt's heavy traffic might be a source of concern for participant teams and their fans. Cairo, for instance, is one of the most-densely populated cities in the world. Abou-Reida insisted the organizing committee did their utmost to ensure teams and supporters would face no problems when visiting stadiums. "We all know that Egyptian fans struggle to enter stadiums but we cooperated with the interior ministry to allay their suffering," he commented. "For example, we constructed a special route for Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo."
