Barcelona are in no rush to renew the contract of head coach Josep Guardiola, European champions' sporting director Rafael Yuste stated. The Catalans have recently extended the contracts of the backroom boys till the summer of 2011; however, Guardiola and his assistant Tito Vilanova are yet to ink new deals. Yuste made no secret of his desire to see the Spanish tactician extend his stay, but referred that Barcelona want their former player to take his time before making up his mind. "Things have to be natural and we will not force any situation. It's clear that I personally would like to renew, along with Tito, but the board do not want to pressure him," Yuste told COM Radio. "The continuity of Guardiola at the club will depend on him, as he will always do what it best for him and the club." Guardiola had the best possible start to his coaching career with the Blaugrana, who won a quintuple of titles under his management. Barca won the UEFA Champions League, Primera Liga and Copa del Rey last term, and kicked off the current season by claiming the Spanish Super Cup and the European Super Cup.
