Cristiano Ronaldo became the world's most expensive player after his move to Real Madrid from Manchester United for £80 million has been officially finalised. The two clubs earlier agreed a fee for Ronaldo, before the 2008 world player of the year agreed personal terms with Los Merengues. "Real Madrid CF and Manchester United have signed the definitive agreement for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish club on July 1," Real Madrid's website said Saturday. "The player will stay at Real Madrid for six seasons. Ronaldo will be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu on July 6." While Real are yet to reveal Ronaldo's future salary, British media reported that the Portuguese international will receive between £200 and 250 thousand per week. Ronaldo is the second to break the world's most expensive player record upon joining Real, after Zinedine Zidane joined the club for €76 million in 2001. Since the re-election of Florentino Perez as club chairman earlier this month, the Real have been on a shopping spree by signing Kaka from AC Milan for €67.2 million before landing Ronaldo.
