Olympic battled with ten men for the second successive match to earn a 2-2 home draw with Telecom Egypt in Friday's league game. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Olympic stunned Zamalek with a 3-1 victory on Sunday. The Alexandria-based club managed to avoid defeat once again after being forced to play with ten men against Telecom. Moataz Mahrous fired Telecom in front after 13 minutes when he converted Wael Riad's right-wing cross. Olympic's equalizer hopes were dealt a major blow when Ghanaian midfielder Abdullah Othman, who was on the scoresheet against Zamalek, received a straight red card. But Mostafa Shebeita drew Olympic level two minutes before the break. Diminutive midfielder Riad helped Telecom restore their advantage in the 68th minute. The former Ahli man's fierce drive was parried by Olympic keeper into the path of Mohamed Attia, who scored on the rebound. Karim Adel secured a share of spoils in the 72nd minute after converting a penalty as the newly-promoted Olympic moved into tenth spot of the table with 11 points. Telecom, who made a decent start to their season under coach Helmi Toulan, are fifth on 15 points.
