Germany midfielder Torsten Frings ruled out reports suggesting he would relinquish his international career in the wake of his recent omission from the national Mannschaft. The Werder Bremen was angry after being overlooked by Germany coach Joachim Low in the World Cup qualifiers with Russia and Wales this month. Speculation around Frings' future occurred as a result, but the 32-year-old vows to retain his place in Low's selection. "The public discussion about my future in the national team seems to be getting carried away, so I wanted to say the following," Frings was quoted German daily Bild. "I was very disappointed after the World Cup qualifiers against Russia and Wales. "To play for my country is something extraordinary and very special. "I want to keep doing that in future, as was agreed with the national team coach after Euro 2008. "I have never demanded a guaranteed place in the team and I will never demand one. "I want to convince Low, and his team also, in the future with my performances." Frings has been one of the pillars of the Mannschaft in recent years, even though he frequently suffered from injury setbacks.
