Arsenal needed a late William Gallas goal to earn a 1-1 draw at Dynamo Kiev in their Champions League group stage opener on Wednesday. The hosts led through Ismael Bangoura four minutes after the hour mark. The Guinean striker converted a penalty after Bacary Sagna brought down Ognjen Vukojevic inside the area. But French defender Gallas lived up to his reputation for notching decisive goals in dying minutes as he claimed the equalizer with two minutes remaining. Theo Walcott provided a low cross at the far post; Emmanuel Adebayor touched the ball before Gallas pounced to fire in from close range. In the other Group G match, Porto put in a fine display to beat Turkish side Fenerbahce 3-1 at Estadio do Dragao. Porto's Argentinean striker Lisandro Lopez opened the scoring after ten minutes before Lucho Gonzalez extended the gap three minutes later. Spain striker Daniel Guiza pulled one back in the 29th minute but substitute Lino ensured Porto's win in stoppage time.
