Zamalek presidential candidate Al-Mandouh Al-Hosseini has officially opposed the club's signing of Ghanaian striker Junior Agogo. Al-Hosseini sent an official letter to the Egyptian Higher Council for Sports (HCS) asking them to annul the contract with the Nottingham Forrest player. Al-Hosseini told Dream Sports channel that Agogo's signing is nothing but a publicity stunt to boost the chances of current Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas in getting reelected this summer. The HCS had previously issued a statement that said that no deals should be completed without their approval in the transitional period that precedes Egyptian club elections. Agogo has signed a three-year-deal with Zamalek and is set to be unveiled at a press conference later on Thursday. Al-Hosseini has accused Abbas of using his post to improve his chances of getting reelected while other presidential hopefuls "aren't even allowed to hold seminars inside the club". Zamalek's elections are set to be held on July 27th.
