English, Italian giants chase Spanish hitman
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 06 - 2008

VIENNA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A string of top European soccer clubs have shown interests towards Spanish striker Daniel Guiza ahead of the Real Mallorca hitman's possible presence at Spain's starting list for their Euro 2008 final against Germany here on Sunday evening.
Italian giants AS Roma are preparing a last minute 12 million pounds (about 15.20m euros) bid for the Spaniard, while Roy Keane, manager of English Premiership's Sunderland, is ready to fork out 10m pounds (about 12.66m euros) to sign diamond Guiza from Real Mallorca.
Also, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Barcelona have all been linked with the striker, who has a 15 million euros buy-out clause in his contract with the Spanish Primera Liga club.
Turkish side Fenerbache have already agreed to meet that figure but Guiza is prepared to wait and see.
Guiza has only been used as a substitute by Spain coach Luis Aragones and made three appearances this month, but has still managed to score twice in the tournament.
The 27-year-old forward outscored David Villa and everyone else in the Spanish first division league last season, topping the scorers standings with 27 goals for Real Mallorca.
