Roma kept up pressure on Serie A leaders Inter Milan after coming from behind to earn a 2-1 home victory over Milan on Saturday. World player of the year Kaka stunned the home crowd 11 minutes after the break but Roma managed to overturn the deficit in the second period. Two late strikes from Ludovic Giuly and Mirko Vucinic gave Roma a precious victory over Milan, whose miserable form continued. Roma are second in the league table with 61 points, three behind leaders Inter, who take on Palermo later on Sunday. Milan, who look for a UEFA Champions League spot, lie fifth on 46 points. Fourth-placed Fiorentina can extend their advantage over Milan to four points if they beat Genoa on Sunday. In the 28th minute, Francesco Totti caught Kakha Kaladze napping to control Taddei's smart chip inside the area but his right-footed effort went wide of the post. Ten minutes later, Giuseppe Favalli raced down the left flank before providing a pinpoint cross to Kaka, whose header went narrowly wide. Kaka put Milan ahead in the 56th minute when he connected with Massimo Oddo's cut-back to send a brilliant first-timer into the roof of the net. The Rossoneri couldn't hold onto their lead as their ageing defenders failed to deal with Roma's pacey frontmen. Giuly grabbed the equalizer for the hosts in the 79th minute to send the home fans into ecstasy. Milan defenders poorly positioned themselves inside the area as they naively rushed towards Francesco Totti, who held the ball before falling to the ground. Simone Perrotta pounced on the loose ball to flick into the path of the unmarked Giuly, whose acrobatic volley went past Milan keeper Zeljko Kalac. Substitute Vucinic helped Roma secure a valuable win nine minutes from time after capitalizing on another flimsy defending. Perrotta once again was the provider after his long ball picked out the Montenegrin, who sprung the offside trap before slotting home into the near-post bottom corner.
