The Egyptian Football Association fined Zamalek EGP 10 000 and Ahli EGP 5000 on Thursday after a group of their fans chanted disrespectful words towards officials during their league games. The Egyptian soccer governing body threatened to toughen the sanctions in case a similar behavior happens in the future. Meanwhile, Ittihad midfielder Mahmoud Sobhi has been handed a three-match ban and EGP 2000 fine after being found guilty of striking an opponent.
