Egypt beat hosts Bahrain 35-28 on Monday in the first round of the main draw to edge closer from a spot in the semi-final of the World Youth Championship. The Pharaohs had the lead since the first minute but they could only end the first half with little lead, 11-9. Egypt young men got much in control in the second half and extended their lead to end with a large victory of 35-28. The Pharaohs are now second of the group just behind the Swedish who conceded a surprise defeat from Denmark 26-22. They just need a draw on Tuesday against Denmark, one of the big favorites, to get through to the semis.
