Hossam Ghaly's displays with Tottenham Hotspur last season have witnessed a noticeable progression, according to Chris Hughton's report that was published on the club's official website. The spurs assistant manager praised the Egypt midfielder's productivity that saw him making many appearances throughout the season in different competitions. "We asked him (Ghaly) to make progress from last season and he did that and you can see that from the games he played, he scored goals, made goals, won a couple of penalties and contributed to the team," read the report filed by Hughton. The 26-year-old midfielder enjoyed a better season with the Londoners, scoring three goals in all competitions, despite facing fierce competition for his place. Ghaly's future with Tottenham was cast into doubt on the 10th of May when he threw away the team's shirt as a reaction for being substituted during his side's Premiership game against Blackburn Rovers.
Mido's Tottenham future in doubt However, the former Ahli midfielder, who joined Tottenham from Feyenoord in January 2006, later on apologized for his inappropriate behavior, saying that he did not intend to show any disrespect for the club's fans. Ghaly's compatriot Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' was mentioned in a previous report on June 10th. "Unfortunate that he missed periods through injury. There is no doubt he's a good player, he's shown that and the ideal one of four strikers. "We're fortunate because they are all different strikers and Mido gives us something different," Hughton said. However, the 24-year-old striker looks to be on his way out of White Hart Lane in search of regular first-team football as reports linked him with a move to either Fulham or Manchester City.
