Flavio Amado scored a rare double to lead Ahli to a 3-1 victory at Asyut Petroleum in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday. The Angolan striker ended a one-year goal-drought after five minutes before Mohamed Samara leveled for the hosts in the 17th minute. Wael Riyadh restored the lead just before the interval and Flavio sealed the victory midway through the second period. Flavio's last goal was in August 2005 during Ahli's 3-1 victory over Mahalla. The win placed Ahli first with seven points, one point ahead of Ismaili, who play Enppi later this night. Flavio stunned the home crowd as he gave Ahli an early lead with a powerful header into the far angle after connecting with Ahmed Sedik's cross. Former Ahli striker Samara equalized 12 minutes later when he cut in front his marker and headed past keeper Essam Al-Hadari, who conceded for the first time in 15 league matches. Ahli went to the locker room one up as Mohamed Shawki swung an inch-perfect cross from the right only for Riyadh to send a neat header home. In the 76th minute, substitute Mohamed Abou-Treika headed the ball into the path of Flavio who unleashed an unstoppable bullet from the edge of the area into the top corner of the net. Osama Hosni almost added the fourth nine minutes from time but his curly shot from inside the area was blocked by the woodwork.
