Juventus goal keeper Gianluigi Buffon has seemingly decided to stay in Italy if he is able to play in Serie A, the player's agent said. While Buffon has been linked with interest from the Premiership and Real Madrid, the former Parma custodian hopes to remain in Serie A, with AC Milan topping his list of possible destinations. "His primary objective is to remain in Italy," Silvano Martina, the shot-stopper's representative, told the Guardian newspaper. Juventus were relegated this Friday to Serie B with a 30 point deduction for their part in a match-fixing scandal. Martina had previously said his client would definitely leave the Old Lady should they be relegated, and now Buffon has begun shopping for a new employer. "He likes London as a possible destination, but his desire is to continue his playing career in Serie A," Martina said. Buffon has already been linked with Milan in the past months and confirmation of their Serie A status may open the door for squad. Roma may also jump on the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old player if they can meet his price tag. Regardless of Buffon's desires, it is understood that Juventus is postponing all major sales of players until the squad's appeal against the 30 point deduction imposed on them has been heard. Buffon played a pivotal role in Italy's World Cup winning campaign and was named as the tournament's best goalkeeper.
