Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has returned to the presidency of AC Milan, the Serie A side said Friday. "Silvio Berlusconi has officially been reinstated as president of Milan," the club said in a statement carried by their official website. "He returns to the role after a club general meeting." Berlusconi was forced to step down from the presidency of Milan in December 2004 due to conflict of interests as he was Italy's Prime Minister at that time. Although the position remained vacant following Berlusconi's resignation, chief executive Adriano Galliani took the responsibility of running the club. However, after losing the election to Romano Prodi, Berlusconi will again take charge of the Serie A runners-up.
